Saale-Elster Viaduct – railways | Halle | DE

As part of the construction of the railway line between Erfurt and Leipzig / Halle, the longest railway bridge in Germany was built south of Halle from 2006 to 2012.

At its completion, it should secure the traffic flows from Nuremberg to Berlin and from Frankfurt/Main to Dresden.

Steel sheet piles were used for the temporary cofferdams around the bridge piers.
